Would you kill for a pair of Air Jordans? Lemon Andersen spins a tale of someone who did, reciting a poem by Reg E. Gaines. These verses taught Lemon that poetry could be about more than self-expression, and could sound like music when given rhythm and infused with the grit of the New York streets around him.

I loved the first one so you know I'll be present for the second one, I could go through all the stars and say I love each one, but I will resist. Yippee Ki Yea
I want to watch this, it has some teeth, but will it show in Wadadli? I doubt it.
I will admit it: I want to see this for James McAvoy.

People aren’t just cooking anymore -- they’re cooking, texting, talking on the phone, watching YouTube and uploading photos of the awesome meal they just made. Designer Paolo Cardini questions the efficiency of our multitasking world and makes the case for -- gasp -- "monotasking." His charming 3D-printed smartphone covers just might help.

Body language affects how others see us, but it may also change how we see ourselves. Social psychologist Amy Cuddy shows how “power posing” -- standing in a posture of confidence, even when we don’t feel confident -- can affect testosterone and cortisol levels in the brain, and might even have an impact on our chances for success.

A decade ago, Robin Chase founded Zipcar in the US, now the largest car-sharing company in the world. Now she's exploring the next level of car-sharing: Buzzcar, a French startup that lets people rent their own cars to others. The details are fascinating (how does insurance work, exactly?), and the larger vision (she calls it Peers, Inc.) points to a new definition of ownership and entrepreneurship. The Talk
I'm back with Trailers!!!! I know, I know, where have I been? What's been going on with my blog? Well stay tuned for that info, but check out these trailers.
Woohoo!! An apocalypse movie. I'm watching this because I was disappointed my Godzilla and want to see monsters and machines.
Can we have Superman keep the beard? He looks uber cute with the beard. I'm watching this because Superman feels edgier and has issues.
At first I was not interested then I saw Morgan Freeman. Then the plot got twisted and now I want to know what is happening. Who's the bad guys? His bosses? Morgan Freeman's people? or those monsters? So many questions.
Oooh another end of the world movie. Am I seeing a theme here? I first saw this on FaceBook and I was interested. I'm a Will Smith fan and I hope this movie has legs
OMG! This looks.... okay, it might not be exceptional but it has Sandra Bullock and Spoken Reason so I'll be on the lookout.

It may seem that we're living in a borderless world where ideas, goods and people flow freely from nation to nation. We're not even close, says Pankaj Ghemawat. With great data (and an eye-opening survey), he argues that there's a delta between perception and reality in a world that's maybe not so hyperconnected after all.The Talk

Literature has long been fascinated with fostered, adopted and orphaned children, from Moses to Cinderella to Oliver Twist to Harry Potter. LOL, how funny is this, this talk is from TED Ed and this is Ted Thursday 101. I love it and I love this talk, especially the quotes. It also puts life into perspective, to me anyway.

Gravity. The stars in day. Thoughts. The human genome. Time. Atoms. So much of what really matters in the world is impossible to see. A stunning animation of John Lloyd's classic TEDTalk from 2009, which will make you question what you actually know.

I had planned on not continuing with posting trailers but...... I couldn't help my self.
I've got goosebumps, Tarantino, Jamie Foxx, Samuel L. Jackson and Leonard DiCarprio. I'm looking forward to this.
I don't always have a taste for Hitchcock but there a some of films that are excellent and I love what I'm seeing in this trailer. The cast looks solid and I'm definitely going to watch.
This is why I love Sean Penn. He can be a gay man in one movie and a tough gangster in the next. I love the film noir feel of this movie. Will it make it to Wadadli? Not sure, I might have to wait for it to come out on HBO.

Oh My! 100 Ted Thursdays, so that means almost two years of posting Ted Talks that speak to and resonate with me. Awesomeness! I would like to thank Anika Kentish and her producer at the time at Observer Radio for inspiring this series. Their version was Ted Tuesdays and at 9am, they would play a Ted Talk, I would actually tune in for that in particular. Unfortunately, that segment didn't last, but it will live on here at Kimolisa Was Here.
Here are a couple talks that I'm loving, they are short and sweet.

I love dance, I love to dance, I love to watch dance, I'm a fan. Granted now, when I dance I probably look more like a person experiencing an epileptic episode than a professional dancer. One thing from this talk that stood out for me was when he said his parents were supportive of him and that his dance teacher gave him free reins to experiment. Definitely awesome. I must warn you the dance created is very contemporary.

Ooops! Nearly missed this one. What drew me to this talk is the notion of a new way of doing things. Let's be real, the ways of our fore-parents are becoming extinct. What worked back then is not going to work now. Plus with technology growing in leaps and bounds, it is only safe to say that ways of making money are growing in number.
